This is a lament for the deaths of those abroad, and our comparative unconcernedness for them. If you want to remind your elected representatives that refugees are dying daily trying to cross the ocean, or to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, for example, this would be a good choice. Difficulty level: easy to medium, tonal, should be approachable for any three-part choir. Parts could be learnt by ear.
